Caterpillar is looking for a Technical Product Manager to lead the safety and regulatory compliance roadmap for its next generation of autonomous and software-driven equipment. This is a high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of product strategy, functional safety, and regulatory affairs — ideal for a PM who wants their work to directly shape how safety-critical machines get built, certified, and trusted in the field.
You'll own the compliance product portfolio end to end: requirements management, risk mitigation, certification support, and audit readiness — and you'll be the single point of accountability for deciding what gets built and when, based on safety impact and regulatory need.
You'll work inside Caterpillar's Technology, Digital & Data organization — the group responsible for turning over a century of heavy-equipment expertise into software, connectivity, and AI capabilities. This isn't a lone-wolf PM seat: you'll sit shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Owners, engineers, functional safety specialists, legal counsel, and quality teams, inside a structure where safety sign-off actually matters and isn't just a checkbox on a form.
Caterpillar builds the equipment that runs the world's construction sites, mines, and infrastructure projects — and increasingly, that equipment is autonomous and connected. Getting the safety and compliance layer right isn't a side function here; it's what makes the autonomy roadmap possible at all. If you want product work with real physical-world stakes, not just another dashboard ship, this is that kind of role.
This is a technical, cross-functional PM role, not a generalist PM seat. Whether your background leans toward safety/compliance engineering with product instincts, or product management with deep safety-domain fluency, do apply for this role.
