Job Description

Senior Product Manager – Metadata Intelligence at GEICO is a high-impact platform product role that sits at the heart of enterprise data discovery, governance, and AI readiness. You will own the full product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for the Metadata Intelligence capability inside Data Compass — GEICO’s enterprise data discovery, metadata, and self-service analytics platform.

This position focuses on making enterprise data understandable, searchable, governed, and ready for both human users and AI systems. You will define how the organization captures what data means, where it lives, who owns it, how it is used, and how it should be ranked or retrieved across business and AI workflows.

You will write clear product requirements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria. You will run continuous user research and steward engagement, then turn insights into prioritized work that improves catalog adoption, search success, metadata quality, steward engagement, and reuse of trusted assets. Success is measured by real outcomes: employees finding trusted data faster, stewards improving metadata quality at scale, and Compass AI delivering more accurate answers.

The ideal candidate brings strong product judgment, technical depth in metadata platforms, and the ability to lead through influence across organizational boundaries. Experience with data catalogs, business glossaries, enterprise search, SQL/BI usage analytics, or platforms such as DataHub is highly valued. Comfort with data governance concepts (certification, ownership, stewardship, sensitivity) and prior work on AI/ML-enabled capabilities (metadata enrichment, semantic search) is expected.

This is a rare opportunity to build the foundational metadata intelligence layer that powers both human productivity and AI reliability at one of the largest auto insurers in the United States. If you thrive at the intersection of data catalogs, usage intelligence, governance, and AI retrieval, this role offers significant scope and impact.
