Job Description
Salesforce is seeking a Senior Product Manager focused on Finance Systems and Workday to drive continuous improvement across Record-to-Report processes. This role sits inside Digital Enterprise Technology and partners closely with Controllership, Tax, Treasury, and Revenue Recognition teams as the company advances its Finance Transformation program.
You will own both the near-term delivery roadmap and the longer-term product vision for the systems that power core financial operations. Success means translating complex business needs into clear priorities, aligning internal stakeholders, and guiding an elite delivery team of engineers and business systems analysts to ship reliable, high-value solutions.
What you will lead
- Build and maintain a living product roadmap that balances strategic initiatives, feature work, and operational improvements for Record-to-Report and related finance processes.
- Surface business themes and trends, then influence prioritization and approach at the roadmap level so that technology investments map directly to measurable outcomes.
- Partner daily with the scrum team on planning and execution; own delivery to plan and resolve blockers early by working across business and IT partners.
- Prioritize the backlog at the sprint level and convert requirements into well-formed user stories that engineers and business systems analysts can implement with confidence.
- Act as the primary (but not sole) conduit between the delivery team and business partners at the department and division level; communicate scope, status, risks, and decisions clearly in both written and verbal form.
- Anticipate capacity needs from the roadmap and collaborate with management to secure the right resources before constraints appear.
- Guide partners through intake processes, explain the purpose of milestones and artifacts, and keep work flowing without unnecessary friction.
- Review technical solutions for alignment with business processes and IT standards; define “done” against clear acceptance criteria that deliver real business value.
- Hunt for process optimization, redesign, or entirely new policy opportunities that improve speed, accuracy, or control across the finance landscape.
- Serve as the authoritative voice for the solutions owned by the team and represent that work in cross-functional initiatives.
Experience that sets you up for success
- 7–10+ years implementing core financial systems, with deep expertise in cloud ERP platforms such as Workday, Oracle, or SAP across end-to-end Invoice-to-Cash and Record-to-Report domains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field plus 8–12 years of information-systems experience; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise system implementations and solution architecture for large, global organizations.
- Hands-on experience leading process improvement or full finance-system transformation programs.
- Comfort making technology-strategy recommendations and learning quickly in a multifaceted environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present sophisticated ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across virtual and global cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects under time-bound constraints in a fast-paced setting, using solid project-management practices.
Desired strengths include Agile/SCRUM fluency, knowledge of Record-to-Report end-to-end processes, data visualization, data quality, and integration technologies, plus creative problem-solving and a solid understanding of IT architecture components and practices.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance domain expertise and modern product management. You will help shape how Salesforce’s own finance organization operates while building solutions that scale with the business.
