Job Description
About the Role
Apple's Watch and Health Product Marketing group is hiring a Product Manager, Health to help shape the next chapter of the company's smartwatch, wearable, and fitness lineup. This is a hybrid role by design — part of Apple's model folds product management and product marketing into one seat, so you'll carry a product's story from the earliest concept discussions all the way through to the day it lands in customers' hands.
You'll be embedded in the Apple Watch and Health team, working alongside engineering, clinical experts, human interface designers, and communications specialists to turn emerging health and fitness technology into features people actually rely on every day.
What You'll Do
- Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle — translating real user needs into product requirements engineering and design teams can build against.
- Mine data and competitive intelligence to justify product bets, from feature prioritization to positioning against rival wearables.
- Partner across a genuinely global, cross-functional team — clinical researchers, industrial designers, human interface teams, and PR — through every phase of development.
- Craft the positioning and core messaging for new health and fitness features, including how they stack up against everything else in the market.
- Work hand-in-hand with communications teams to plan launch moments: press briefings, embargoed previews, and marketing collateral.
- Represent your product publicly — this includes being the spokesperson in press conversations when a feature ships.
- Track technology and cultural trends in fitness and wellness to surface the next opportunity before competitors do.
- Navigate the inevitable trade-offs between feature scope, ship dates, product-line positioning, and long-term lifecycle planning.
What You'll Need
- 4+ years across product marketing and/or product management, including having taken at least one product completely through a development cycle — concept to launch. Experience spanning hardware, software, and services is a strong plus.
- Direct, hands-on experience shaping how a product is talked about — both to engineers early in development and to the public once it's ready.
- Recent (within the last three years) experience somewhere in the wearables, smartwatch, fitness, or health technology space, or a closely adjacent consumer hardware/software/services category.
- Comfort in front of a room — you'll need to build keynote-level narratives, defend them under pressure, and stay composed when the questions get hard.
What Would Make You Stand Out
- 7+ years of combined product management/marketing experience.
- A genuine, demonstrable passion for the health, fitness, and wearables category — this isn't a role for someone who's simply curious about it.
- A track record of building consensus across highly collaborative, sometimes competing, stakeholder groups.
- Comfort juggling several fast-moving projects simultaneously without losing precision.
- Experience as a company spokesperson — someone media and analysts have quoted before.
- Sharp attention to detail, plus the flexibility to travel a handful of times a year, domestically and internationally.
- A bachelor's or master's degree; an MBA is welcomed but not required.
