Staff Autonomy Product Manager

Rivian is redefining sustainable mobility, and autonomy sits at the center of the company's next chapter. As a Staff Autonomy Product Manager, you'll define the vision, strategy, and execution for automated driving and convenience features — shaping experiences that give Rivian customers real freedom, safety, and time back behind the wheel. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role requiring both technical depth and executive-level communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Strategy: Develop and champion a clear product vision for new and existing automated driving and convenience features, aligned to company goals and market opportunity.
• Value Narrative: Architect the foundational value narrative and unique selling proposition for autonomous features, translating complex technical capability into human-centric benefits.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate product priorities and progress across engineering, design, executive leadership, and marketing.
• Scenario & Journey Definition: Define complex edge cases, user stories, and end-to-end journeys ensuring a safe, intuitive, premium experience.
• Data-Driven Iteration: Partner with Systems Engineering and Cloud/Data teams to translate vehicle telematics into a roadmap for feature reliability and performance.
• Regulatory & Competitive Intelligence: Track global AD/ADAS regulations (US and EU) and competitive trends to keep features compliant and market-leading.
• 0-to-1 Execution: Own execution plans for Rivian's most ambiguous autonomy initiatives, securing cross-functional alignment and resolving high-stakes trade-offs as the subject matter expert.
• KPI Ownership: Define and track sophisticated KPIs measuring the real-world value of autonomy features.
• Technical-Marketing Bridge: Serve as the source of truth for release notes, owner's guides, and technical publications for every rollout.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (MBA a plus)
• 7+ years of Product Management experience in automated driving, driver assistance, or robotics — or a mix of 3–4 years in engineering and 3–4 years in product management in these fields
• Demonstrated leadership launching 0-to-1 automated driving features in nascent markets while scaling existing ones
• Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks for autonomous/ADAS systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with agile methodologies and PM/project tools

Preferred

• Strong understanding of the automated driving technology stack
• Experience navigating high-volume telematics datasets and big-data ecosystems to extract insight into feature utilization, edge-case frequency, and driver intervention patterns
