Senior Product Manager, Tenant Scale

Job Description

GitLab is hiring a Senior Product Manager, Tenant Scale to help shape how the company supports its largest, most complex customers as they scale across departments, projects, and regions. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, infrastructure, and customer needs, focused on making tenant data more portable, scalable, and ready for a unified deployment model across GitLab.com, GitLab Dedicated, and eventually Self-Managed.

You'll join the Infrastructure Platforms organization and work on some of GitLab's most technically demanding product problems — from horizontally scaling a SaaS architecture, to enabling tenant movement between environments, to defining what a more cellular architecture looks like at GitLab's scale. In your first year, you'll partner closely with engineering to move this work from concept into a deployment model teams can actually build on.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive product direction for tenant scale and unified deployment capabilities across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and future deployment models
• Define requirements for GitLab's unified deployment platform, including what's needed before tenants can be hosted in a unified deployment unit
• Partner with engineering counterparts to turn infrastructure constraints into clear product direction
• Collaborate with product peers across the platforms organization, including teams on GitLab.com and adjacent infrastructure areas
• Engage with internal and external customers on isolation, regional deployment, compliance, and operational readiness needs
• Facilitate tradeoff discussions around scalability, tenant encapsulation, and deployment consistency
• Translate complex technical concepts into product plans and documentation that align distributed teams on delivery milestones

Requirements

• Experience managing product work in technical domains such as infrastructure, scalability, platform architecture, or cloud services
• Ability to work effectively with deeply technical engineering teams and build credibility in system design and deployment discussions
• Knowledge of multitenancy, horizontal scalability, autoscaling, workload isolation, and production readiness
• Comfort working with customers or internal stakeholders on complex, compliance-driven requirements
• Skill turning ambiguous technical problems into clear product strategy and actionable plans
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially explaining infrastructure topics to varied audiences

Preferred

• Transferable experience from engineering, technical support, or adjacent product roles relevant to large-scale platforms
• Experience collaborating across product, engineering, and UX in a fully distributed, asynchronous environment
• Background working on SaaS platform architecture at significant customer scale
