Product Manager – Capital One Shopping (Remote-Eligible, AI-Focused)

Job Description

Capital One is hiring a Product Manager to join its growing Capital One Shopping team, one of the company's fastest-growing consumer platforms. This is a data-driven, remote-eligible role built for a PM who can turn transaction and behavioral data into a compelling product story, form sharp hypotheses, and define the metrics that prove whether a product initiative actually worked.

What sets this role apart is its explicit focus on applied AI. Capital One isn't just asking for AI familiarity on a resume — they want candidates who have proactively used AI-driven development environments like Cursor or GitHub Copilot, or built their own automations with AI agents, to learn, build, and solve problems beyond simple text generation. For a PM audience actively upskilling in AI tooling, this is one of the more concrete, hands-on AI signals in a large-bank product posting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple teams of software and data engineers to design and deliver data platform features for internal users
• Understand enterprise data requirements and ensure the system's compliance with enterprise patterns
• Relentlessly dig into user and stakeholder needs and ensure they shape prioritization and trade-off decisions
• Create a vision and roadmap for the product that addresses stakeholder needs
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, designers, and engineers to continuously refine the roadmap and harvest insights from experiments and launches
• Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders who depend on the platform's capabilities and performance
• Define, socialize, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the evolution and success of the project
• Own day-to-day setting and monitoring of KPIs, requiring strong SQL and data-analysis skills
• Identify, prioritize, and launch innovative, merchant-focused products that drive revenue and customer value

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems), Business, or Marketing — or a bachelor's degree in any field plus 3+ years of Product Management experience
• Comfort working with backend products and a willingness to challenge the norm when it's right for the team
• Proficiency handling large data files using SQL, Python, and/or R
• A customer-first mindset paired with a product-centric approach to moving ideas from ideation to production
• Strong communication skills, able to advance initiatives and build consensus through clear, contextually relevant messaging
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a results-focused environment

Preferred

• At least 3+ years of experience with SQL
• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products
• A demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI — hands-on use of AI-driven dev tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) or AI agents for personal projects or automations is a strong plus
• Knowledge of emerging technologies (APIs, Big Data, native UIs) and how to incorporate them into great products
