Product Management Director – ISCO Managed Accounts
USAA is seeking a Product Management Director (individual contributor) to own the strategy and roadmap for the firm’s managed investment solutions. This senior product leader will define and execute strategy for model portfolios, Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), Unified Managed Accounts (UMAs), and other investment advisory programs that support member needs, advisor effectiveness, asset growth, and USAA’s broader investment services strategy.
This role sits on the leadership team for ISCO Product Management and reports to the Head of Product Management for ISCO. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in managed account platforms and investment products combined with strong product management, technology, analytical, and leadership skills.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage internal and external data plus member insights to formulate product strategy and strengthen competitive intelligence.
- Develop product dashboards and metrics that evaluate strategic performance.
- Partner with Marketing to define go-to-market strategy and value propositions.
- Recommend new product launches and evaluate buy/build/ally decisions.
- Serve as product SME on features and services while collaborating across business partners.
- Analyze product performance metrics to identify market opportunities and enhancements.
- Lead expansion or changes to existing product features using Agile methodologies.
- Contribute to product pricing and profitability decisions.
- Identify and evaluate potential alliance providers.
- Support all aspects of the product life cycle and approve product communications.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management to ensure offerings meet all applicable laws and regulations.
- Interpret performance results to inform forecasts and planning.
- Ensure risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with USAA risk and compliance policies.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
- 8 years of relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Sales/Service, Finance/Accounting Operations, or Financial Services.
- 3 years of product management or similar strategic management experience.
- 2 years of data visualization experience (e.g., Tableau).
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (FINRA and SEC).
- Expert experience creating product briefings and presenting to executive leadership.
- Experience using market research to build roadmaps, make decisions, and iterate rapidly.
- Knowledge of product-related regulations and risk/compliance requirements.
What sets you apart:
- U.S. military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
- 10+ years working with managed account products including model portfolios, UMAs, SMAs, and other investment advisory solutions (or comparable investment/wealth management experience).
- Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset management, advisory pricing, investment products, and wealth management economics.
- Demonstrated experience developing product and business strategies and translating them into executable roadmaps.
- Experience leading large, complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong executive communication, analytical, financial, and strategic decision-making skills.
- FINRA Series 7 license.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office. Preferred location is Plano, TX; San Antonio, TX is also available. Relocation assistance is offered. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
