Senior Product Manager, Fraud & Trust at Instacart

Instacart is hiring a Senior PM to lead fraud detection, identity verification, and appeasements platforms - protecting a four-sided marketplace of customers, shoppers, retailers, and advertisers across millions of transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for fraud, identity, and order dispute resolution
• Drive the evolution of Instacart's real-time ML-powered fraud detection and identity platform - including decisioning, selfie/passkey verification, and ATO prevention
• Champion an AI-native, AI-first approach to fraud and trust - pushing beyond rule-based systems toward next-generation ML architecture
• Lead the appeasements and order-issue resolution strategy, balancing fair customer treatment with abuse prevention
• Partner closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Fraud Operations to scope model improvements and translate fraud signals into scalable product capabilities
• Collaborate across Platform, Payments, Order Management, Shopper, Legal, and CX teams
• Stay ahead of emerging threats - organized fraud-as-a-service, AI-generated abuse, and novel attack vectors

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years in fraud, trust & safety, risk, identity, or a related high-stakes platform domain
• Proven ability to set product vision and strategy independently - not just execute, but define the north star and drive a multi-year narrative
• Track record of measurable outcomes in fraud prevention - reduced fraud losses, improved authorization rates, lower false positive rates, or optimized cost per order
• Strong experience working with ML/data science teams on fraud detection models, risk scoring, or decisioning platforms
• Comfort with data and experimentation - SQL, analytics tools, A/B testing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce compelling strategy documents
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience

Preferred

• Experience shipping GenAI/LLM-powered products or AI-native detection/decisioning systems
• Background in multi-sided marketplaces or enterprise/white-label platforms
• Experience leading or influencing Fraud Ops, Trust & Safety Ops, or Risk Operations teams
