Job Description
eBay is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead its CRM Communications portfolio inside the Conversion Programs team — the group responsible for how eBay talks to buyers through email, push notifications, and native hub alerts. This isn't a maintenance role: it's ownership of a multimillion-dollar communications engine that directly moves conversion and retention for one of the world's largest online marketplaces.
You'll sit at the intersection of data, design, and engineering, shaping a portfolio that reaches millions of buyers across 190+ markets. The team is small and senior, which means your fingerprints will be on the roadmap, the experiments, and the revenue outcomes — not buried three layers of process deep.
What You'll Own
- Roadmap & Strategy: Build and drive the CRM communications roadmap in lockstep with engineering, data science, and design — you're the one connecting business priorities to what actually ships.
- Opportunity Sizing: Use data to identify where the portfolio is leaking value, then forecast the upside of fixing it.
- Prioritization: Weigh business impact against user needs and engineering effort to decide what gets built next — and defend those calls with evidence.
- Experimentation: Author A/B tests end-to-end — hypothesis, test design, KPI definition — and see them through to a shipped improvement.
- Execution: Write PRDs, hand off clear requirements to engineering, and stay hands-on through delivery rather than tossing specs over a wall.
- Operational Rigor: Keep project plans current, surface blockers early, and maintain the documentation that keeps cross-functional partners aligned.
- Measurement: Benchmark performance after launch and make the call on whether to scale, iterate, or kill.
- Market Awareness: Mine customer feedback and competitive intelligence to spot the next opportunity before it's obvious.
What You Bring
- 5+ years in product, growth marketing, business, or consulting, with a track record in conversion and performance optimization.
- 2+ years in e-commerce or marketplace environments — marketplace experience is strongly preferred.
- Direct ownership of lifecycle communications — email, push, in-app, or similar — including audience strategy, trigger logic, messaging, and measurement.
- A genuine experimentation mindset: you can design a hypothesis, forecast its impact, run the test, and turn results into a scalable change.
- Comfort living inside metrics — funnel health, KPI monitoring, diagnosing drop-offs, and making the short-term-vs-long-term trade-off calls.
- Strong product sense — you understand why a buyer behaves a certain way, not just what the dashboard says.
- A history of running complex, cross-functional initiatives through Product, Engineering, Analytics, Design, and Ops without losing momentum.
Preferred
- Hands-on familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, or experimentation platforms.
- Comfort working directly with technical partners on data dependencies and implementation details.
If you've been looking for a CRM/lifecycle PM role where the portfolio is big enough to matter and the team is small enough that your work is visible, this is that role.
Job Benefits
Beyond base pay, eBay's total compensation package for this role includes:
- Target annual bonus
- Restricted stock units (RSUs), where applicable
- Medical, financial, and other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility
- Paid time off, including PTO and parental leave
