Job Description
About the Role
Truist is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap for a set of client-facing digital commerce journeys — the flows people use to discover, apply for, and adopt Truist's banking products online. It's a blended role: part strategist, part execution partner, sitting between business stakeholders, experience design, data teams, and technology delivery squads.
You'll be judged less on features shipped and more on outcomes — completion rates, funding rates, drop-off, and how well a journey actually converts. The team runs on SAFe Agile, so this PM lives inside that rhythm (PI planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews) while also thinking several quarters ahead about where digital commerce needs to go next.
Truist is explicit that AI-assisted concepting and prototyping tools are part of the expected toolkit — comfort with rapid-prototyping AI assistants (Figma Make or similar) to visualize and stress-test ideas quickly will help you move faster through discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned digital commerce journeys, tied to measurable outcomes rather than output.
- Run discovery — client conversations, analytics, competitive scans — and turn friction points into a prioritized backlog.
- Partner closely with Experience Design, Research, Data & Analytics, Marketing, and Technology to turn insight into concrete product bets.
- Write epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria clear enough that delivery teams can act without back-and-forth.
- Show up as a product leader inside Agile ceremonies — PI planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, demos, release-readiness reviews.
- Use funnel data and client feedback to judge whether a shipped feature is actually working, and course-correct when it isn't.
- Track and report KPIs — completion rate, funding rate, abandonment, personalization effectiveness.
- Loop in Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Accessibility partners early so nothing ships with downstream exposure.
- Mentor other Product Managers, Product Owners, and analysts on discovery technique and outcome-based thinking.
- Deliver executive-ready updates — roadmap status, key tradeoffs, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, design, engineering, or a technology-related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years across product management, digital strategy, technology, financial services, marketing tech, or experience design.
- 5+ years specifically shipping digital products or journeys inside a matrixed organization.
- A track record of building roadmaps and business cases that lead to measurable results, not just shipped features.
- Comfort leading Agile delivery — PI planning, backlog management, sprint ceremonies, release readiness.
- Working knowledge of human-centered design methods — journey mapping, service design, Jobs-to-Be-Done.
- Strong stakeholder management — this role has no formal authority over the technology team, so influence matters as much as the roadmap.
- Comfortable making calls in ambiguity, without waiting for perfect information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in banking, lending, wealth management, or another regulated industry.
- Direct experience with digital account opening, onboarding funnels, or acquisition journeys.
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted prototyping tools inside a product discovery workflow.
- A SAFe, Scrum, or Human-Centered Design certification.
- Experience running A/B tests or funnel experiments to validate ideas before full build-out.
