Director of Product, AEO & SEO

Job Description

eBay is hiring a Director of Product to lead its SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy, positioning the company to win visibility across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other emerging AI search platforms - one of the most forward-looking PM mandates in the e-commerce SEO space today.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and execute eBay's organic growth and technical SEO strategy at scale
• Define and build eBay's Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy for AI-powered answer ecosystems
• Lead technical SEO across site architecture, internal linking, crawl efficiency, and schema markup
• Develop frameworks for structured data, content signals, and entity authority for LLM discoverability
• Build and mentor a team of global SEO product managers, data scientists, and analysts

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, or search strategy
• 4+ years leading large-scale SEO programs at enterprise or marketplace companies
• Deep expertise in technical SEO at scale (programmatic SEO, structured data, crawl optimization)
• Strong understanding of LLMs, generative search, and knowledge graphs

Preferred

• Experience optimizing for featured snippets, voice search, and AI answer surfaces
• Fluency with Google Search Console, Similarweb, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, and emerging AI visibility tools
