Product Manager, Trip Quality Merchandising and AI

Job Description

Airbnb is looking for a senior product leader to own the guest-facing quality merchandising experience on one of the world's largest travel marketplaces. This role sits within the Trip Quality team and focuses on closing the gap between what guests expect and what they actually experience - at a scale touching hundreds of millions of trips globally.

You will build and ship AI-powered features that help guests make more confident booking decisions, synthesizing signals from reviews, ratings, and listing data into personalized, trustworthy quality information.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the product roadmap for Trip Quality Merchandising and AI
• Define product requirements for generative AI features (listing summaries, quality highlights) and ML ranking systems - including evaluation criteria, guardrails, and iteration plans
• Partner hands-on with Data Science to assess model performance and translate findings into concrete product improvements
• Craft the product narrative that builds alignment across teams, leadership, and the company
• Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Customer Support, Policy, Privacy, and Legal teams to deliver trusted, guest-facing features
• Build deep expertise in how guests evaluate listing quality through user research, marketplace data, and competitive analysis
• Make prioritization decisions that balance guest experience, platform integrity, and host impact

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience
• Proven track record shipping AI/ML-powered features on consumer products - including generative AI (LLM-based summarization, content generation) and ML ranking or personalization systems
• Strong ability to use data and business analysis to drive product strategy
• Experience working on consumer products with global marketplace dynamics
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex AI/ML concepts for diverse audiences
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional and executive alignment

Preferred

• Domain familiarity with marketplace trust/quality, search/ranking/relevance, or content/feedback systems
• Entrepreneurial track record of taking ideas to shipped products
