Job Description
Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions company and a leader in tactical mesh networking and MIMO radio systems, is hiring a Technical Product Manager to own product definition for its Electronic Warfare (EW) and Sensing portfolio. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role for someone who can translate defense and tactical requirements into concrete hardware configurations, firmware specs, and field-ready user experiences.
You'll report into the Director of Product Management and sit at the intersection of engineering execution and mission-critical field use — shaping how operators interact with sensing and signal technology in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own requirements end to end — convert high-level tactical EW capabilities into detailed software user stories and hardware/sensor configurations engineering can build against.
- Drive hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) for the FASST and LSNRS product lines, covering everything from prototype validation through manufacturing coordination and regulatory clearance.
- Manage the technical backlog — sprint planning, grooming, and release cadence for EW-related firmware and software features.
- Evaluate trade-offs between customer feature requests, engineering timelines, and field expectations, and set clear scope boundaries.
- Partner across functions — work closely with R&D, hardware and software engineering, sales, and business development to keep execution aligned with business goals and delivery timelines.
- Close the feedback loop — translate operator feedback, program specs, and competitive intelligence into prioritized features, and support defense integrators validating plug-and-play deployments across terrestrial, aerial, and maritime platforms.
- Travel up to 25% to support field testing, customer integrations, and customer meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 5+ years of technical product management or systems engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or wireless communications.
- Solid working knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, software-defined radios (SDRs), mesh networking, or spectrum operations.
- Demonstrated ability to turn high-level military/tactical use cases into structured technical requirements.
- Track record influencing engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority, while still hitting firm release dates.
- Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance, or eligibility to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (required due to government contract work); employment is contingent on background check and drug screening.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Electronic Warfare, passive sensing, direction-finding/AOA, spectrum monitoring, or LPI/LPD waveform technologies.
- Comfort weighing hardware trade-offs against firmware/software constraints, plus familiarity with manufacturing and supply-chain ramp-up.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA.
- Agile/Scrum experience managing complex backlogs in Jira.
Job Benefits
Alongside a strong base salary, Silvus Technologies (Motorola Solutions) offers a full U.S. benefits package:
- Incentive bonus plans
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- 10 paid holidays
- Generous paid time off
