Job Description
Chime is hiring a Product Manager for its AI & App Experience team, the group that shapes how the Chime app feels each time a member opens it. You would own the Home screen, the shared building blocks every product team relies on, and the design system that ties it all together. If you like the idea of turning a busy, multi-product app into one clear place to manage money, this role is built for you.
The job sits right where product, design and engineering overlap. You won't be writing specs for one isolated feature. You'll help decide how balances, recent activity, insights and suggested next steps appear together, and you'll build the shared tools that let other Chime teams ship good work faster. The role is hybrid and based in either New York or San Francisco.
What you will be doing
- Set the direction for Home. Write the vision and roadmap for the first screen members see. The aim is a personal money hub that quickly answers three things: what is different since last time, what deserves a look, and where to go next.
- Bring the app together. Work with other product teams to agree on how balances, transactions, tips and recommended actions are arranged, so the experience feels connected instead of stitched together.
- Grow the design system. Partner with designers and engineers on navigation, information architecture, reusable components, patterns and tooling, so teams stop rebuilding the same things.
- Simplify fragmented journeys. Find the places where a member has to hop between screens or products to finish one task, and turn them into cleaner, scalable fixes.
- Drive adoption. Persuade product teams to use shared components and patterns, while leaving them enough room to experiment at their own pace.
- Measure what matters. Define success through signals such as how well members understand what they see, whether they finish tasks, how engaged they are, how consistent the app feels, and how well the system works for designers and developers.
- Shape the role of AI. Explore how personalization and AI can make Home more relevant for each member, and how they can improve the way Chime teams design and build.
What we are looking for
- At least 8 years of experience as a Product Manager.
- You have built and grown a consumer mobile app, ideally owning something central to it, like a home tab, dashboard, navigation or personalized feed.
- Background in design systems, shared app capabilities, developer platforms, UI frameworks or similar horizontal infrastructure.
- Good instincts for simplifying. You can take dense money information and a pile of competing requests and end up with something a first-time user gets right away.
- A close working relationship with design and engineering, with enough technical and design fluency to talk through information architecture, component libraries and platform limits.
- You have taken a fuzzy problem shared by several teams and ended up with a strategy, a sequenced roadmap and results you can point to.
- Experience bringing several product teams into alignment when you have no formal authority over them.
- You decide with evidence: analytics, A/B tests, research, and feedback from members as well as from the designers and engineers who use the platform.
- Comfort in environments where quality, trust and consistency matter as much as speed and scale.
Nice to have
- Experience getting a shared product or platform adopted across many teams, including uncovering the pain points of internal users.
- A habit of using data, research and user feedback to choose where to invest, and to check whether a platform is really delivering value.
- Practice at balancing near-term delivery with foundations that will last.
Who this role suits
This is a strong fit for a senior PM who enjoys horizontal work, meaning problems that cut across many teams rather than one product line. You'll spend a lot of time aligning people, so clear thinking and good communication matter as much as product sense. In return, you get a surface that nearly every Chime member sees, which makes the impact of your decisions easy to see and measure.
