Job Description

About the Role

Walmart is hiring a Senior Product Manager to independently own a complex, high-visibility product area within its Membership Personalization organization — the team responsible for growth, engagement, and retention across Sam's Club and Walmart+ memberships. This is an individual-contributor leadership seat for someone who can move fluidly between strategic vision and hands-on execution, and who's comfortable driving outcomes across large, cross-functional groups without relying on formal authority over the people involved.

In practice, you'll be the connective tissue between customer insight, data science, engineering, and business strategy — turning millions of member interactions into a roadmap that measurably improves how tens of millions of U.S. shoppers experience their membership.

What You'll Own

Why This Role Matters

Membership businesses live or die on retention, and retention lives or dies on relevance. This team sits at the center of that equation, using NPS data, personalization models, and lifecycle analytics to figure out what actually keeps a Sam's Club or Walmart+ member renewing year after year. It's a rare mandate: enough scale to matter to the P&L, enough ambiguity to demand real product judgment, and enough data to genuinely test your ideas instead of just shipping opinions.

What Makes a Strong Candidate

The Fine Print

Walmart's baseline bar is either a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus five years in product management, or seven years of product management experience with no degree requirement. A master's degree plus four years as a PM is preferred, especially for candidates who've shipped consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B or B2C products. Background in WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and inclusive digital design is also called out — a signal Walmart is investing seriously in accessibility, not bolting it on at the end.

This is a role for someone who wants ownership at scale — the kind of mandate where your product decisions show up directly in retention numbers for one of the largest membership bases in American retail.
