About the Role

Lam Research, a leading global supplier of wafer fabrication equipment to the semiconductor industry, is hiring a Senior Product Manager for its Global Products Group. This role sits at the center of the company's etch and deposition product lines, giving one person end-to-end ownership of a product's journey — from early definition through production release, upgrades, and eventual end-of-life.

Unlike a typical mid-level PM role, this is a senior, cross-functional leadership position. You won't just influence a roadmap — you'll be the person accountable for aligning engineering, operations, supply chain, and customer-facing teams around a single product vision, and for defending that vision when priorities compete for scarce resources.

What You'll Own

• Full Product Lifecycle Management — accountability for the product from concept to retirement, not just a single phase
• Priority-setting authority as a stakeholder on the Program Priority List, deciding how engineering and operational resources get allocated across competing projects
• Ownership of the Product Option Architecture — defining exactly what configurations of the product are sold, and approving any changes to them
• Managing unreleased product forecasts and shipment plans, including driving material requests and approving design reviews before a product ships
• Setting and managing financial reserves tied to field enhancements and known issues — a rare blend of product and financial ownership
• Reviewing engineering change requests and bill-of-materials changes, providing the business rationale that determines whether a change moves forward and how it's priced
• Acting as the communication hub between Lam and customers when product issues affect ongoing production — including leading cross-functional teams through the resolution
• Leading safety-related cross-functional teams when a safety alert requires an implementation plan
• Monitoring product cost in partnership with supply chain and engineering, making sure cost stays a first-class factor in every design decision
• Championing "Shift Left" process improvements — finding ways to catch and resolve issues earlier in the development cycle

Who Thrives in This Role

Lam is looking for someone who can walk into a room of highly technical engineers and earn credibility fast — not by being the most technical person there, but by bringing structure, judgment, and decisiveness to situations that don't have an obvious answer. You'll frequently be the person who has to make a call when data is incomplete and stakeholders disagree.

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 8+ years with a Master's, or 5+ years with a PhD)
• Strong, demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Comfort leading and, when necessary, challenging a team of highly technical, highly competent engineers
• Ability to mentor less experienced product managers
• Excellent cross-organizational influence — you'll work across engineering, ops, supply chain, and customer teams daily

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience specifically in semiconductor capital equipment
• Background with wafer handling or mechatronics systems
• Prior people-management or supervisory experience
