Job Description
AI Product Manager – Sales & Services
Ford Motor Company · Dearborn, Michigan · Hybrid
Ford's Global Data Insights & Analytics (GDIA) organization is looking for an AI Product Manager to help turn Ford's Sales & Services operations into a smarter, more predictive, and more personalized business. This is a hands-on product leadership role at the intersection of artificial intelligence, enterprise software, and customer experience — ideal for a builder who wants to see AI move from concept to production at true enterprise scale.
You'll own the product vision and roadmap for a portfolio of AI-driven tools built specifically to help Ford's Sales and Services teams work faster, resolve customer issues sooner, and unlock measurable business value. This isn't an "AI for AI's sake" role — every initiative you drive needs a clear line to a real operational or customer outcome.
What You'll Own
- Product Strategy: Define and evolve the roadmap for AI products serving the Sales & Services organization, grounded in real user research, market trends, and business impact — not just what's technically possible.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Lead a blended team of AI engineers, software engineers, designers, and data engineers through the full build-测test-ship cycle, from opportunity framing to production launch.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the connective tissue between business units, technical teams, and leadership — translating ambiguous business problems into scoped, buildable AI solutions.
- Requirements & Documentation: Produce the artifacts that keep delivery on track — PRDs, discovery docs, opportunity trees, journey maps, and a well-groomed backlog.
- Adoption & Iteration: Design onboarding and training programs that drive real usage, then use telemetry, experimentation, and user feedback to keep improving the product post-launch.
- Scalable, Secure AI: Partner with engineering to make sure every solution you ship is reliable, secure, and built to scale — not a one-off proof of concept.
What Makes This Role Different
Unlike a typical enterprise software PM role, you're working at Ford's largest possible scale: a company with a massive Sales & Services footprint and years of legacy process to modernize. That means the AI you ship here has a real shot at reshaping how thousands of employees and millions of customers experience Ford day to day.
Who You Are
- You've spent 5+ years working in agile software environments and know how to keep a cross-functional team moving.
- You have 3+ years as a dedicated Product Manager — owning vision, strategy, roadmaps, and backlogs, not just supporting someone else's.
- You're comfortable being the person who has to say "no" to a good idea because it's not the right idea for this quarter.
- You can speak fluently to both an engineer debating model architecture and an executive who just wants to know the business impact.
Nice-to-Haves
- A Master's degree or equivalent advanced study.
- Prior leadership experience managing a product or engineering team.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or Extreme Programming in a real delivery environment.
- A track record of shipping at least one product from zero to production with an agile team, plus ongoing ownership of it afterward.
- Genuine curiosity about new AI capabilities, paired with a Lean/Lean Startup mindset toward validating ideas quickly.
Job Benefits
Ford backs this role with a comprehensive, family-friendly benefits package:
- Health Coverage: Immediate medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage from day one.
- Family Support: Paid parental leave, flexible family care days, new-parent ramp-up programs, and subsidized back-up childcare.
- Family Building: Adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, plus fertility treatment support.
- Vehicle Perks: Employee and family vehicle discount programs, including management leases.
- Growth: Tuition assistance and active employee resource groups.
- Time Off: Generous paid holidays (including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day), paid time off, the option to purchase additional vacation, and paid time off for community service.
